Wow, what a day yesterday. I was our model casting session for The Children's Jewellery Company and Little Pearl Company, in Honiton together with Tish Tash Toys.
The session was due to run from 10am to 12noon. I knew we were in trouble when the first 2 car loads arrived at 9.15 before we had even unlocked the doors, let alone set up.
Here is a picture of the ques at 10.am by 11.am it went even further out of the car park and down the road.........
We had nearly 160 children to see, ranging from 0-10 year old, and with only myself and Sharon From Tish Tash Toys it was hard work, taking details and photos from them all.
We eventually finished at well past 3pm and with only one (cold) coffee each all day we were totally shattered. I am not sure if it was because of programmes such as X-factor and Britain's Got Talent or just because we all love our children so much, but wow we never expected such a massive turn out!
All the parents and children were wonderful and very patient waiting their turn, some had to wait 2hrs to be seen, luckily we held the casting at an indoor play centre, so the kids could play and mums and dads could have coffee or lunch.
Since then I have been going over the photographs over and over again making a short list of who may be right for the job. Sharon has been doing the same.
This is no easy task, as there were many, many stunning children all with great personalities!
A big thank you to Sharon for all her efforts, and The Playdome in Honiton for letting us literally take over the whole place, but also to all the great families who turned up.
We will be in touch before Friday to the ones who have been chosen. I really wish I could choose more, and I had to laugh when Sharon told me she had a "shortlist" of 23..... not so short then, but I know how she feels.
